OECHSLE MONITOR
The OECHSLE MONITOR is an inline measurement system for determining °Oechsle during production. Depending on the version, the device uses the functionality of RHOTEC (density measurement) or SONATEC (sound velocity measurement). Designed for applications requiring high sensitivity and very high measurement accuracy – with straightforward operation and low-maintenance design.

Application
The OECHSLE MONITOR is a variant of RHOTEC or SONATEC and enables Oechsle measurement during production of:
- Wine
- Cider
What does the OECHSLE MONITOR measure?
- °Oechsle in the process (inline measurement)
The °Oechsle determination takes place before fermentation.
Measurement principle – depending on the version
1) RHOTEC version (density measurement)
- The medium flows through a thin U-shaped tube inside the sensor.
- Electromagnets excite the tube to oscillate at its resonance frequency.
- An internal reference oscillator records the oscillation behavior.
- Even the smallest density changes affect the signal and are detected with high precision.
2) SONATEC version (sound velocity measurement)
- A piezo element generates a sound pulse in the ultrasonic transmitter.
- The pulse travels perpendicular to the product flow toward an ultrasonic receiver, where it is detected.
- Based on the known distance between transmitter and receiver and the measured transit time, the sound velocity is determined.
Evaluation / product-specific correlation
The relationship between concentration and density or sound velocity can be described using a mathematical polynomial. Centec uses such polynomials for a large number of products.
Temperature compensation
Temperature drift of the measurement signal is automatically compensated by an internal Pt1000 sensor.
