SONATEC is a high-precision sensor for continuous concentration measurement in two-component mixtures . It is based on measuring the speed of sound in the liquid. Designed for applications requiring maximum sensitivity and very high accuracy – with simple operation and maintenance-free performance .

 SONATEC is suitable for measuring concentrations in various media. Typical applications include:

 Measurement principle (speed of sound)
 
 
 A piezoelectric element generates a sound pulse in an ultrasonic transmitter .
 
 
 The pulse travels perpendicular to the product flow towards an ultrasound receiver and is detected there.
 
 
 The distance between the transmitter and receiver is known.
 
 
 The speed of sound is determined from the measured transit time .



 From the speed of sound to concentration
 
 
 Every liquid has a specific speed of sound .
 
 
 The relationship between concentration and speed of sound can be described in a product-specific way using a mathematical polynomial .
 
 
 Centec uses polynomials for a large number of products .



 Temperature compensation
 
 
 Temperature drifts are automatically compensated via an internal Pt1000 sensor .
