Depending on the application, the BEER MONITOR combines the functionality of RHOTEC (density measurement) and SONATEC (sound velocity measurement) . The instrument is designed for processes requiring high sensitivity and high measurement accuracy . In daily use, it is straightforward to operate and designed for low maintenance .
 

 
 Application
 The BEER MONITOR is a variant of the COMBITEC and enables the simultaneous measurement of alcohol and extract during the production of beer and beer-based mixed drinks . The original gravity is automatically calculated and displayed by the sensor.
 

 
 Measurement principle (combined)
 
 
 
 RHOTEC – Density measurement:
 The medium flows through a thin, U-shaped tube inside the sensor. Electromagnets excite the tube at its resonant frequency. An internal reference oscillator detects the vibration behavior – even the smallest changes in density affect the signal.
 
 
 SONATEC – Sound velocity measurement:
 A sound pulse is generated by a piezoelectric element in the ultrasonic transmitter and travels perpendicular to the product flow towards the receiver. The sound velocity is determined from the measured travel time and the known distance.
 
 

 
 Evaluation (concentration reference)
 The relationship between concentration and density , or sound velocity, is described by a mathematical polynomial. Centec utilizes many years of experience and its own laboratory facilities for a large number of products.
 

 
 Temperature compensation
 Temperature drifts of the measurement signal are automatically compensated by an internal Pt1000 sensor .
