Neutralization system – Automated pH regulation for wastewater
The neutralization system automatically regulates the pH value of acidic or alkaline wastewater before it enters the company's wastewater network, a municipal wastewater treatment plant , or is discharged directly. Neutralization is controlled by integrated pH sensors and dosing pumps for acid and alkaline solutions – continuously or in batches, depending on the process.
Application
Neutralization systems are used to control the pH value in process wastewater from pharmaceutical production , laboratories , or CIP systems . They prevent exceeding legal limits and enable safe discharge into the sewer system or transfer to downstream wastewater treatment stages.
What the system achieves in operation
- Automatic pH control for process wastewater
- Design as a closed stainless steel or plastic system (depending on the chemical load of the medium)
- Design as a compact skid unit or can be integrated into the wastewater line as a stationary unit
- CIP-compatible versions with cleaning cycles and chemical rinsing are possible.
Measurement, control and documentation concept
A PLC-based control system handles monitoring and traceability:
- pH value (continuous measurement)
- Fill level
- temperature
- conductivity
- Process data - Documentation in accordance with GMP environmental regulations
- pH trend monitoring and alarm management (including safety overflow)
Dosage (acid / alkali / gases)
- Dosing via chemical-resistant precision pumps
- For gases: Dosage via highly efficient vortex injectors
Special features / characteristics
- Fully automatic pH control with continuous measurement
- Plant materials in AISI 316L or plastic
- Safety overflow, pH trend storage and alarm management
- Compact, modular skid design for easy integration
- Depending on the neutralization process, a redundant version with a CIP system is possible.
- Optionally available with dual tank or multi-stage neutralization
- Design compliant with GMP, WHG and AwSV regulations
