CARBOTEC NIR - CO₂ measurement (optical)
CARBOTEC NIR is ideally suited for the continuous measurement of dissolved carbon dioxide in liquids. The instrument is designed for applications requiring maximum sensitivity and the highest accuracy. It is easy to use and virtually maintenance-free. The new generation of CARBOTEC NIR sensors is based on Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) technology. Near-infrared (NIR) light is guided through a sapphire crystal. The NIR light is reflected multiple times from the inner surfaces of the crystal, while the outer surfaces are in contact with the carbonated liquid. Since CO2 molecules absorb the specific wavelength of the transmitted light, each reflection reduces the intensity according to the CO2 content in the product. The sensor delivers the "pure" carbon dioxide content, as quantified by the NIR absorption. The measurement result is not affected by other gases in the product, nor by its color, turbidity, or viscosity. The absence of moving parts makes the instrument virtually maintenance-free. Temperature drifts of the measurement signal are automatically compensated by an internal Pt100 sensor.
- Optical technology based on Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR)
- Determination of the "pure" carbon dioxide content unaffected by other gases
- Short response time and excellent long-term stability
- Highly accurate and virtually maintenance-free
- Various flange connections available
- Hygienic design and full CIP capability
CARBOTEC NIR - CO₂ (optical)
CARBOTEC NIR is a highly accurate optical carbon dioxide sensor for measuring the "pure" CO2 content in soft drinks and mineral water. Dissolved CO2 has a significant impact on product quality and taste.
