For CO2 supply, the carbonator features a specifically designed vortex-Venturi injector that feeds a large number of tiny bubbles of carbon dioxide directly into the product stream. Due to the high pressure and turbulent flow, the CO2 dissolves completely and homogeneously in a very short time. A control valve is located at the end of the dissolution section. This valve maintains a constant pressure in the system, above the saturation pressure. Flow rates and CO2 concentration are continuously monitored and automatically adjusted throughout the process. For this purpose, the system is equipped with highly accurate flow meters and a CARBOTEC sensor from Centec. Centec has decades of experience in developing and manufacturing its own precision instruments for CO2 control. The desired CO2 concentration in the carbonated product is precisely achieved. The carbonator is integrated into the CIP cleaning cycle of the main production line.
