CIP - Cleaning in Place
Cleaning and disinfection must function reliably at defined intervals – without unnecessarily slowing down production. Centec CIP systems are designed to reliably execute cleaning steps while simultaneously minimizing water, chemical , and energy consumption .
Application
Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) is used to remove product residues and microorganisms from all product-contact surfaces , e.g. in:
- Tanks
- Pipelines
- bottling machines
Centec offers CIP systems for cold and hot cleaning in the brewing industry .
Typical CIP cycle
A CIP cycle consists of several coordinated steps, for example:
- Pre-rinse with treated water
- Rinsing with alkalis and acids
- Intermediate and final rinsing with treated water
- Depending on the task: use of chemicals/cleaning agents to increase cleaning effectiveness
Consumption logic: “Lost cleaning” or “Batch CIP”
Depending on the system design, the cleaning medium is changed after each step:
- directed into the drain (lost cleaning)
or
- returned to storage tanks and reused later (stack CIP)
Hot or cold cleaning (depending on the model)
- Hot cleaning : Use of hot lye and/or hot water
- Cold cleaning : all media at ambient temperature
Variants & Expansion Stages
Centec CIP systems are designed to suit the operation – from compact to large :
- small, mobile single-channel systems (optionally on wheels)
- large, stationary multi-channel systems
- including storage tanks of any size for cleaning media
- optional with water recovery
Process reliability & production availability
- Cleaning concept ideally adapted to requirements
- Simultaneous production and CIP cleaning are possible (while some areas are being cleaned, other areas can continue production)
- Maximum product safety thanks to double-seat valve technology : prevents the mixing of product and cleaning agent at all times.
