ALCOHOL-BRIX MONITOR - Alcohol & Brix Inline Measurement

The alcohol brix monitor combines density measurement (RHOTEC) and sound velocity measurement (SONATEC) in a single system. Designed for applications requiring maximum sensitivity and highest accuracy – yet easy to use and maintenance-free .


Application
The Alcohol-Brix Monitor is a variant of the COMBITEC and enables the simultaneous measurement of alcohol and Brix during the production of wine , cider and spirits .


Measurement principle (combined)

  • Density measurement (RHOTEC):
    The product flows through a thin, U-shaped tube inside the sensor. Electromagnets excite the tube to oscillate at its resonant frequency . An internal reference oscillator detects the oscillation behavior. Even the smallest changes in density affect the signal and are precisely detected.

  • Sound velocity measurement (SONATEC):
    A piezoelectric element generates a sound pulse in the ultrasonic transmitter. The pulse travels perpendicular to the product flow to the receiver, where it is detected. The speed of sound is determined from the measured travel time and the known distance.


Evaluation (concentration reference)
The relationship between concentration and density , or speed of sound, is described by a mathematical polynomial. Centec utilizes decades of experience and its own laboratory facilities for a large number of products.


Temperature compensation
Temperature drifts are automatically compensated via an internal Pt1000 sensor.
