RHOTEC ALC-TAX - Certified alcohol measurement
RHOTEC ALC-TAX is a density sensor for the continuous determination of alcohol content. The instrument is recognized and certified by German authorities and fulfills the requirements of the PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt). It is designed for applications requiring maximum sensitivity and highest accuracy – while remaining easy to operate and maintenance-free.
Application
RHOTEC ALC-TAX is a variant of RHOTEC and is used whenever alcohol must be measured during production and the alcohol content has to be determined by a certified instrument for tax-related purposes.
What does the system measure?
- Alcohol content (via density measurement)
- In addition: display of density and concentration in various units is possible (depending on the setting)
Measurement Principle (Density Measurement)
- The medium flows through a thin, U-shaped tube inside the sensor.
- Electromagnets excite the tube to oscillate at its resonance frequency.
- An internal reference oscillator records the oscillation behavior.
- Even the smallest density changes influence the signal and are detected with high precision.
From Density to Concentration
- The relationship between concentration and density can be described product-specifically by a mathematical polynomial.
- Stored polynomials are available for a large number of products.
Temperature Compensation
- Temperature drift of the measurement signal is automatically compensated by an internal Pt1000 sensor.
Certification / Verifiability
- Recognized and certified by German authorities
- PTB type approval with a verification error limit of 0.0001 g/cm³ for alcohol, alcohol-water mixtures, and water
- In combination with various types of officially approved flow meters, the system fulfills the requirements of the PTB and the BfB (Bundesmonopolverwaltung für Branntwein)
