OXYTRANS M - Oxygen (optical; mobile)
OXYTRANS M is a portable , optical measuring instrument for the continuous measurement of dissolved oxygen in liquids and gases . It is designed for applications requiring maximum sensitivity and the highest accuracy – while being easy to use and virtually maintenance-free . Electrolyte solutions are not required, and no oxygen is consumed during measurement.

OXYTRANS M is a portable, optical oxygen sensor for measuring O₂ in:
- degassed water
- wort
- Beer
- CO₂
Dissolved oxygen has a negative impact on flavor stability and shelf life .
What does the device measure?
- Oxygen ( O₂ ) in liquids and gases (optical measurement)
- Temperature compensation of the measurement signal via internal Pt100
Measurement principle (luminescence quenching)
The measurement is based on optical luminescence:
- The measuring head contains an optical window (glass component) with a thin indicator layer .
- An LED illuminates the indicator layer with blue-green light .
- The indicator layer then emits red light, which is detected by the sensor.
- If O₂ is present, excitation energy is transferred to oxygen molecules – the detected signal decreases with increasing O₂ concentration .
- Other gases do not affect the measurement result, as they do not absorb this energy.
- Temperature drifts are automatically compensated via the internal Pt100 .
