Yeast Recycler - Recovering beer from yeast
The Yeast Recycler is a system for recovering beer from waste or excess yeast . It utilizes proven cross-flow technology with durable ceramic membranes . The modular design is suitable for breweries of varying sizes.
The recovered filtrate is yeast-free and absorbs only a minimal amount of oxygen . Up to 5% of the recovered beer can be reintroduced into the brewing process without negatively impacting the quality of the finished product.

The Yeast Recycler is used to recover beer from waste or surplus yeast .
What the plant does
- Beer recovery from waste or surplus yeast
- Separation via cross-flow filtration with robust ceramic membranes
- Filtrate: yeast-free , with minimal oxygen input
- Recycling of the recovered beer into the brewing process (up to 5% , depending on the application)
Diafiltration (optional) – increased recovery
Diafiltration can be used for optimization:
- Adding small amounts of water to the waste yeast creates a washing effect .
- Advantage: higher recovery rate
O₂ control (optional)
The O₂ content can be monitored using highly accurate optical OXYTRANS sensors from Centec.
