Yeast Pitch - Addition of yeast
Yeast Pitch is a fully automated yeast dosing system for the precise addition of liquid yeast to the wort line . The system measures and controls the yeast addition with high accuracy , ensuring that yeast cells are distributed homogeneously in the wort stream.

Role in the process in the process
- Fully automated dosing of yeast cells into the wort line
- Precise measurement and control of feed quantities (standard: accurate flow meters )
- Homogeneous distribution of yeast cells in the wort stream via a specially designed injector.
Measurement and control concept (optional, depending on the version)
Depending on the process requirements, the dosage can be additionally ensured via sensors:
1) Differential turbidity measurement (before/after yeast addition)
- Turbidity measurement before and after addition
- Verified that the correct amount of yeast cells is being supplied.
- Variations in the base turbidity of the wort are automatically compensated.
2) Alternative control strategy: in-line live cell measurement
- Control of the added yeast via in-line live cell measurement (as an alternative to differential turbidity)
Homogeneous mixing (vortex effect)
- A specifically designed injector mixes yeast and wort.
- The vortex effect in the injector distributes the yeast cells homogeneously in the wort.
