Yeast Pitch - Addition of yeast
The yeast dosing system is a fully automated system that measures and controls the addition of liquid yeast to the wort line with utmost precision. The standard version of the system is equipped with accurate flow meters. Optionally, turbidity sensors or a live yeast cell monitor can be used. Differential turbidity measurement before and after yeast addition ensures that the correct amount of yeast cells is added to the wort. Variations in the wort's baseline turbidity are automatically compensated for. As an alternative to differential turbidity measurement, the added yeast can also be controlled by in-line live cell measurement. A specially designed injector then mixes the yeast with the wort. The yeast cells are homogeneously distributed throughout the wort by a vortex effect within the injector. Thanks to its compact and modular design, the system can be easily combined with a wort aeration system.
