The composition of raw water varies greatly depending on its source. Centec analyzes the water quality and selects the optimal combination of technologies based on the requirements of the end product. Multi-stage systems are typically used to reliably remove particles, dissolved metals, and microbiological contaminants.
Sand and multimedia filters are used for pretreatment to remove suspended solids such as silt and organic matter from the water. If necessary, iron and manganese are then removed through oxidation and filtration in a de-ironizer. Activated carbon filters are used to improve taste and protect downstream components. Finally, the water can be disinfected using UV light, ozone, or chlorine to reliably kill bacteria and microorganisms.
The combination of these technologies ensures stable water quality, long service life of downstream membranes and reliable process safety in all industrial applications.
