FILTEC AC - Activated Carbon Filtration
FILTEC AC systems are designed for the requirements of beverage production. They ensure consistently high product water quality and support taste-neutral, clean water – protecting downstream processes and plant components .
What will be reduced/removed?
FILTEC AC selectively reduces or removes substances and trace elements in water, including:
- free chlorine
- Odor and color
- organic substances (e.g. humic acids, TOC )
- anthropogenic contaminants (e.g. sweeteners , pesticides , drug residues )
- Disinfection byproducts (e.g. trihalomethanes / THMs , chloramines )
Execution & Renovation
The filters are hygienically designed and intended for water treatment in the beverage industry:
- Material finish in stainless steel 304L or 316L
- Sanitation via hot water or steam possible
- Backflushing is internal or external, depending on the model.
- Operation is manual or automated (depending on the level of automation)
Adsorption capacity (EBCT)
A defined "Empty Bed Contact Time (EBCT)" is crucial for reproducible adsorption.
FILTEC AC achieves this through:
- high-quality, acid-washed activated carbon
- optimized flow guidance for defined EBCT and maximum adsorption performance
Backwash technology – efficient and water-saving
For effective cleaning with minimal waste, the standard design is based on:
- at least 60 nozzles per m²
- Backwash chamber at least 25%
- minimized flushing losses through efficient backwashing technology
Key points
- High adsorption capacity thanks to acid-washed activated carbon
- Hygienic stainless steel design (304L / 316L)
- Hot water or steam sanitization possible
- Minimal flushing losses thanks to efficient backwashing technology
- Flexible and adaptable – manual or automated
- Complies with international standards for beverage water treatment
