Craftline - Systems for craft breweries
CRAFTLINE is a product line of cost-effective process systems specifically designed for craft breweries. The typical application range is up to 100 hl/h. The systems feature a lower degree of automation and, depending on the version, can be equipped with highly precise sensor technology. Implementation and configuration are intentionally kept lean.
Who is CRAFTLINE made for?
- Craft breweries with typical capacities up to 100 hl/h
- Operations looking for a cost-effective solution with practical equipment
- Applications in which automation and sensor technology should be scalable depending on demand
Craft DeGaS-Cold – Column Water Deaeration
In the column deaeration process, the water is distributed in the upper part of the column. Inside the column, tightly packed thin stainless steel sheets are arranged so that the water takes many paths as it flows downward. This increases the exchange area and contact time between the water and the strip gas (CO₂ or N₂).
Process sequence
- Strip gas is fed into the bottom of the column and rises in countercurrent flow to the water.
- The large partial pressure difference of O₂ drives the oxygen out of the water into the gas phase.
- At the top, the removed oxygen leaves the system together with undissolved CO₂ or N₂.
Options (depending on version)
- Operation under vacuum and without strip gas to increase performance and avoid carbonation / nitrogenation of the water
- Permanent monitoring of the O₂ content in the deaerated water, e.g. with an optical OXYTRANS sensor
Craft Wort Aerator – Wort Aeration
The Craft Wort Aerator is designed for manual operation. Optionally, the supplied amount of O₂ can be matched exactly to the measured wort flow based on highly precise oxygen and flow measurement.
How O₂ is introduced
- A Vortex-Venturi injector doses oxygen as a very large number of very small bubbles directly into the product flow
- Due to pressure and turbulent flow, the oxygen dissolves completely and homogeneously in a very short time
Options (depending on version)
- Dissolution section with a control valve at the end to keep the pressure in the system constant and above the saturation pressure
- Sterile air filter system for sterilization of the supplied gas
Craft Blender – Blending of High-Gravity Beer or Beer & Syrup
The Craft Blender is used:
- for blending high-gravity beer with deaerated water
- or for blending beer with syrup
If blending is carried out directly before the filler, this significantly increases the flexibility of the brewery. Different beers or beer-mixed beverages can be produced from the same mother beer.
Options (depending on version)
- Permanent monitoring of flow rates as well as original extract and alcohol content
- Automatic adjustment via ratio control
- Equipment with highly accurate flow meters and inline sensors
- Optional Vortex-Venturi injector for combined CO₂ injection into the product
Craft Carbonator – Carbonation with Vortex-Venturi Injection
For CO₂ injection, the Craft Carbonator uses a specifically designed Vortex-Venturi injector:
- Carbon dioxide is introduced directly into the product flow as a very large number of very small bubbles
- Due to high pressure and turbulent flow, the CO₂ dissolves completely and homogeneously in a very short time
- At the end of the optional dissolution section, a control valve keeps the pressure constant and above the saturation pressure
Options (depending on version)
- Permanent monitoring of flow rates and CO₂ content
- Automatic adjustment in the process
- Equipment with highly accurate flow meters and a CARBOTEC sensor
Highlights
- Cost-effective process systems specifically for craft breweries
- Typical application range up to 100 hl/h
- Lower degree of automation – intentionally lean and practical
- Optional, highly precise sensor technology
- Easy to implement and configure
